Gnomes were once considered "earth elementals" who provided protection especially of buried treasure and minerals in the ground.  They were symbols of good luck and would be used to watch over crops and gardens or tucked into barn rafters to watch over livestock.  Myths claim that gnomes are sensitive to sunlight and it may even turn them to stone. 
 
Add the Bride of Frankenstein to your Halloween decor this season to scare off any unwated foes.   Be sure to keep the "treasured candy bowl" close by as she is ready to gaurd it with her life, well, her second life.  And don't forget to grab her partner Frankenstein.  Together the pair make quite the handsome couple.
